Week 1: Elizabeth Gilbert, Your elusive creative genius

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=86x-u-tz0MA

In this video, Elizabeth Gilbert was vulnerable. She opened up a lot about parts of her life which was about her success of her book; Eat, Pray, Love.
She then continued to tell us about how the Romans, back then, did not believe that creativity came from human beings but a goddess of mystical divine entity. Which was referred as a 'Genius'. This 'Genius' would assist/help us to come up with creative ideas. She also explained that each and everyone of us have our very one creative geniuses and that is I believe, is actually god.

Elizabeth also revealed that she thought that her very successful book; eat, pray, love, was going to be the worst book ever written and she wanted to dump the project of completing the book. But then she reflected that writing was and still is her passion. She then said "you never happened to believed in the first place that the most extraordinary aspects of your being came from you." In other words, we often do not believe that the things that we do that is/was brilliant did not come from ourselves.

To conclude, she was trying to reach out to us that we should always do what we love and just be us. We do not have to be afraid of anything nor feel daunted and just stay sane.

Week 1

I am finally back in school after several months of break. It feels great to be taking up a course whereby I have interest in. Getting accepted into NAFA was truly a blessing although this was only my first week of school, I felt more belonged. I struggled a lot in secondary school with most subjects despite having sleepless nights of studying. Consequently, not performing well for O Levels even when I had myself believing that I was going to well. Nevertheless, I regretted nothing. I am where I am supposed to be today and I am thankful for all that has happened. Moving forward, I hope to stay optimistic throughout my journey in NAFA and excelling in my chosen course.

This was where I typed out the previous paragraph. We were told to buy materials that was needed for the 3D Fundamentals module. This was where I typed out the previous paragraph.

Shortly after, the lesson ended, a few classmates and I headed for lunch at 18 Chefs at a nearby mall. I then proceeded to Art Friend to get the materials. After gathering the materials, I was informed by the cashier that Year 1 NAFA students could apply for free membership. So I applied and received 10% off of the total bill.

Friday, 24 July 2015.
Some classmates and I decided to have a mini class trip to Singapore Arts Museum. We thought that we could get to know each other better that way and indeed, it did.
